Bridal Beauty

I adore this look I created for Sofia. It is very natural looking makeup, notice I didn’t conceal her freckles and the hair accessory is one of many I keep in my ‘for bridal’ use coffer. I used a combination of Smashbox primer, Makeup Forever HD foundation 118, MAC mascara and NARS blusher and Chihuahua lipgloss.

Behind the Scenes Work

I’ve been busy again with some very fun and HOT HOT HOT days here in Singapore. This collage was taken on set during a video commercial promo for a very fancy French winery using my I-phone and Instagram (If you are in Instagram, I am Norahlovesmakeup_mua). We were in Duxton Hill and the feel was a Parisian cafe. It was like 33 degrees outside and as humid as it gets, I spent a lot of time blotting the talents and making sure the shine was at bay. I was also covered with SPF 50 head to toe.

Fun With Sugarpill Cosmetics

Long ago, I’d been wanting to use the splash of color that is Sugarpill cosmetics in Dollipop matte pink.  The time finally came when I had the opportunity to do a creative test with Milan del Rosario aka House of Style studios.

We had the lovely Vitaliya as our model and created lovely fashion-inspired portraits.  I used mostly Sugarpill cosmetics eyeshadows and gel liner by MAC. Below is a close up:

Favorite Price-friendly UK Beauty Loot

Currently loving these brands, since getting them in April, I have been using them consistently both for myself and clients. Me Me Me just stays on forever, Sleek Palette layers beautifully and Tresemme Matte Powder holds hair like no other. ** I paid for these myself**

  • MeMeMe Nailpolish (Superdrug) – Amazing colours and long lasting, what’s not to like?
  • Sleek Pallette (Superdrug) – Introduced by Nicci Jackson at MUSE, I fell in love with the texture and effect when layered using a cream base. Good value for money plus nice pigment, use them at night for a bold eye, promise your eyes will pop and heads will turn.
  • Tresemme 24hr Sky Plumping Powder (Boots) – Need hair lift and volume? This little pot will help, a LOT. For £6, it is worth every penny. It is brand new and not yet on their website but already in stock in the UK.

Bridal Makeup

BridalLast Friday afternoon, I was asked to do bridal makeup for a Profoto/ Shriro Singapore gathering. There weren’t too many details revealed, alas all I knew is that it was a lighting seminar with top Australian wedding photographer Marcus Bell. No big deal, right? My model was running an hour late, did the best I could under time pressure. Once we were ready with makeup, I noticed a large crowd and buzzing interest in the latest gadgets and lighting.

This look was achieved using a combination of products, Makeup Forever HD Foundation, Yaby concealer, and eyes using L’oreal mascara, MAC pigments and paint pot.
