Bridal Beauty

I adore this look I created for Sofia. It is very natural looking makeup, notice I didn’t conceal her freckles and the hair accessory is one of many I keep in my ‘for bridal’ use coffer. I used a combination of Smashbox primer, Makeup Forever HD foundation 118, MAC mascara and NARS blusher and Chihuahua lipgloss.

Makeup Forever Aqua Water Proof Eyeshadow Pencils

A long overdue post! After attending a fabulous event put on by the Makeup Forever Singapore tribe, I left for my trip home so this is tracking back just slightly but newsworthy nonetheless. AND just as I landed in the US of A, the beauty press was raving about MUFE Aqua Shadows (Allure magazine, NBC, blogs) as well as during the Makeup Show Chicago when James Vincent talked about them at the beauty blogger preview. There was a lot of buzz going around and makeup artists were buying like crazya the show. As with any MUFE product, you are getting a versatile pencil, MUFE Aqua Shadow pencils double up as lip base or eyeliner too. I used them on clients and the results didn’t disappoint!

So, why are these pencils so wonderful?

a) The Aqua Shadow range is waterproof
b) Insane color payoff on its own
c) Colors are easy to blend with other shades [Tried and tested]
d) You can use Aqua Shadows in black as an eyeliner or any of the colors [Use a small tip eyeliner brush, it stays on for days even when I remove my makeup]
e) Two of my brides LOVED them [enough said]
f) The pink and taupe are fabulous base for lipcolor [Tried and tested]

Now to the swatches and pencils!

Left to right 323 (silver), 30E (peach), 24E (pink), 8E (green), 6E (blue), 0E, (black).

There will be a separate post on the lipsticks that were revealed at the event.

Barcelona Bridal Week

Looking for some bridal makeup inspiration?  Perhaps a dress?  Here is a tip, search for Pro-Novias and Barcelona Bridal Week, you will find plenty of images and the latest collections.

I am loving the short dresses in this photo, they are young, flirty and super elegant.  The makeup is subtle with defined cheeks and a bit of highlighting above, soft beige tones around the eyes, nude lips.

Duchess of Cambridge’s Hair

Taken from the Daily Mail UK.

Richard Ward was responsible, with James Pryce, for Kate’s hair, for the bridesmaids and the rest of the bridal party.

‘We started working on Kate’s hair at 7.30am at the Goring Hotel, though we’d reported to Clarence House at 5.45am — I’d set my alarm for 4.45, but I was wide awake at 4.15 willing it to go off! After waving Kate off from the side of the hotel with what felt like the entire hotel staff, I rushed to Buckingham Palace to await her return. We were offered champagne and sandwiches and allocated a suite for the morning — it’s a tough life! I’d lost my father the weekend before the wedding so it was an emotional day for me. Of course, it’ll all return to normal soon, and I’ll have to get back to actually cutting some hair.’

Bridal Requests

The bridal season is back after a quiet Chinese lunar new year. I have been getting requests for pre-wedding, bridal ROM and party makeup, thrilled doesn’t begin to describe it. Here is a little taste of what yours could be! This photo was done a few weeks ago and the makeup speaks for itself, using Makeup Forever HD foundation, of course. Hair is by Antonio and photography by Razin, who is also a very seasoned wedding shutterbug.

Bridal Makeup

BridalLast Friday afternoon, I was asked to do bridal makeup for a Profoto/ Shriro Singapore gathering. There weren’t too many details revealed, alas all I knew is that it was a lighting seminar with top Australian wedding photographer Marcus Bell. No big deal, right? My model was running an hour late, did the best I could under time pressure. Once we were ready with makeup, I noticed a large crowd and buzzing interest in the latest gadgets and lighting.

This look was achieved using a combination of products, Makeup Forever HD Foundation, Yaby concealer, and eyes using L’oreal mascara, MAC pigments and paint pot.
